Hi all, this is Caila from Sprinkles and Spices. My lovely friend Gia has asked me to guest post here on Foxxy By Nature, and I couldn’t be more honored! I’ve introduced Gia to the flavourful (and addicting) world of Epicure, and am going to share a little bit about Epicure and my experience with this amazing company and their products. I also have a simple, clean bagel recipe for you that is loaded with protein and fibre.

So, what exactly is Epicure?

Epicure is a Canadian owned company founded by a mother who strived to feed her family meals made with clean, wholesome ingredients. Focused on making meals easy but not compromising on flavour, Epicure only uses real ingredients in their products, and never adds fillers, artificial flavours, or preservatives. All products are 100% gluten-free, low or no sodium, and delicious! Here is a list of things you will never find in any Epicure product.

I was introduced to Epicure by my sister in law a few years back. I never was a fan of veggie/chip dips, and never really cared for salsa. She started making these AMAZING dips and salsas for family gatherings. The first time I tasted the 3 Onion Dip, I was instantly hooked. This was the first product I ever tried, and I can’t even tell you how many jars of this dip mix I have gone through over the years (and definitely can’t count how many friends are now addicted…oops!).

Some of the products Epicure offers include seasonings, dip mixes, protein blends, low sodium broth mixes, pasta sauces, and popcorn toppers. You can browse all the products and find the most current catalogue here

Epicure’s products are also very versatile…

Dip mixes aren’t just for making dips – they make amazing additions to everyday cooking. The seasonings are made with high quality, ethically sourced ingredients, and they are very flavorful, so a little goes a long way! The cookware is also very high quality, and their silicone products are fantastic. Since my kitchen was already essentially an Epicure catalogue, I decided to become a consultant and signed up back in January.

Now, onto the bagels!

These bagels are so easy to make – no need for boiling or frying. You likely already have all the required ingredients for the dough in your kitchen. You only need 1 bowl for mixing, and they only take a few minutes to prep. Perfect for baking fresh on a Sunday morning.

They are made with whole wheat flour and non-fat Greek yogurt, meaning they are high in fibre and protein. You can use gluten-free flour if required instead of whole wheat. I’ve topped these with the Everything Bagel Whole Food Sprinkle, a blend of chia, toasted sesame seeds, onion, and garlic. I love topping salads, pasta, and eggs with this as well.

I made a Jalapeño cream cheese that pairs perfectly with these bagels.

For the cream cheese, I used Epicure’s Cheese & Jalapeño Dip Mix. Simply mix in with softened cream cheese, and store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.

Some other flavours that are great for cream cheese are Herb & Garlic Dip Mix and Roasted Red Pepper Dip Mix. You could also try Chocolate Truffle cream cheese for a sweet breakfast treat!

These bagels are best enjoyed hot out of the oven, but they stay fresh in an airtight container on the countertop for 3-4 days. If you still have some left, you can freeze them and pop one out of the freezer for a quick breakfast.
